The Grand forum des communautés résilientes is an opportunity to draw on collective knowledge to better address the social, environmental and economic issues caused by climate change.
In addition to sharing knowledge from communities and research, participants will co-create solutions and build collaborative projects during hands-on workshops. A call for action will also be prepared and validated by the participants during the event in order to urge the research community, elected officials and municipal practitioners to act collectively to increase community resilience and facilitate adaptation to climate change.
The forum aims to bring together community members of the Rés-Alliance, professionals from the public sector and from communities and municipalities, researchers and students, First Nations community representatives, elected officials and committed citizens. It’s a must-attend event on June 4-5!

Réseau Québec Maritime
The Réseau Québec maritime (RQM) was founded in 2016 under Quebec’s first Maritime Strategy. Established with the aim to unite and bring together researchers from across the province to deal with the major issues related to sustainable and responsible maritime development, the RQM facilitates dialogue, intersectoral collaboration and the joint creation of initiative-driven research projects with stakeholders in regard to everything related directly or indirectly to fluvial or marine environments. Quebec’s Ministry of Economy and Innovation and Fonds de recherche du Québec are the RQM’S financial partners.
MEOPAR NETWORK
The MEOPAR Network (Marine Environmental Observation, Prediction and Response Network) is a network of centres of excellence financed by the federal government. Established in 2012, the MEOPAR Network funds research, trains highly qualified personnel, develops strategic partnerships and supports the mobilization of knowledge regarding the challenges and opportunities of the marine and coastal environment, for the benefit of the Canadian economy and society.
Regroupement des organismes de bassins versants du Québec
The Regroupement des organismes de bassins versants du Québec (ROBVQ) brings together Quebec’s watershed organizations to promote water governance in the context of integrated watershed management and with a view to sustainable development. It is recognized by Quebec’s Ministry of Environment and the Fight Against Climate Change as its preferred partner for the development of integrated watershed management in the province. ROBVQ is also commissioned by Quebec’s watershed organizations to develop and coordinate programs, currently including the Rés-Alliance–a community of practice on adaptation to hydroclimatic change.

Cancellation and Refund Policy
Cancellations will be accepted and a refund issued until May 5, 2019 (minus a $50 administration fee). All cancellations must be sent by email to Alison Thieffry. No refunds will be issued in the event of cancellation from May 6, 2019 onwards. Name substitutions sent by email to Alison Thieffry will be accepted until the day of the event.

Meals
Lunch, coffee breaks in the morning and afternoon as well as the cocktail reception on June 4 are included in the registration fees
Parking
If you need to park your vehicle, we recommend the parking of the City Hall, located at 2, rue des Jardins, a 4-minute walk from the venue. (See the map below)
Eco-responsibility
The Grand forum des communautés résilientes is an eco-responsible event. Please support the organizing committee’s intent by taking the following steps:
Transport
Choose active transportation (e.g., walking and cycling), public transport services or carpooling. The organizing committee will compensate greenhouse gas emissions for participants coming to the event.
Reusable Containers
Bring your bottle and/or reusable tea or coffee cup.
Waste Management
Waste-sorting bins will be placed at strategic locations during the event. Make sure you place your waste in the appropriate bin, depending on whether it’s recyclable, compostable or disposable.
